Medical marijuana is more than just an alternative medicine, it’s a groundbreaking treatment technique that allows millions of patients to get their ailments sorted (without the need for all of the crazy modern pills and shots). There are a lot of reasons as to why you would partake in the consumption of medical marijuana, and it’s only going to become more and more common as the years progress. If you haven’t tried it just yet, I’m going to talk about some of the benefits surrounding this social stigma.
The benefits of marijuana far surpass anything you could have imagined, as it’s a super-drug of sorts. In this plant alone, you could cure both severe anxiety and nausea, as well as assist with multiple sclerosis patients in dealing with their symptoms.
I’m going to take a look at a few of the benefits, and you can do what you want with the information I have to offer. Some people are dead set against the use of marijuana, regardless of whether it’s medical or not – hopefully I can persuade at least one person with this article.
Relaxation Purposes – A lot of people are incredibly stressed out, and suffer from anxiety disorders. When you use marijuana medically, you don’t need to worry about refilling your prescription and such. Most medical patients can grow their own medication, or just go to a dispensary and easily obtain it.
Healing Purposes – Medical marijuana is used for healing purposes as well, as studies have shown that it reduces the growth of cancer cells. It also promotes a better lung capacity, as shown by a study where marijuana smokers were compared over a 20-year period against tobacco smokers. Tobacco smokers showed a decrease in lung capacity, whereas marijuana users showed an increase.
Reduction of Drug-Related Charges – A lot of our youth is being hit with weed-related fines and charges, which doesn’t bode well for a bright future. We want them to have clean records in order to have the most opportunity possible, and by legalizing the medical use of marijuana (and in a lot of cases, the recreational use and/or possession), the number of drug-related charges we see on a yearly basis will be reduced greatly.
Marijuana isn’t just a drug used for recreational relaxation, it has a lot of positive traits to offer to the world. Not only medically, but socially as well – that’s why I hope we can continue to make strides when it comes to the legality of medical marijuana. In the direction we’re moving currently, there’s nowhere to go but up! In due time, there’s bound to be plenty of other medical advancements to be made in terms of marijuana.
There’s already forms of food that include marijuana within, so that the patients don’t necessarily need to smoke the plant. There’s drinks, chocolate bars and even candies that have THC thrown into the recipe, which allows for both a delicious and medicating experience.
